3-Man Umpire Camp & Evaluation Event
Our instructional staff is comprised of current and former Triple-A professional umpires, current and former NCAA postseason umpires, and leaders in the umpiring community.

An umpire development and evaluation opportunity for experienced High-School Varsity, JUCO, and Division III umpires desiring to break into the NCAA Division I. Learn the key aspects of 3-man mechanics and put yourself on the path to officiate higher-level baseball.

If you currently umpire high-school varsity, Junior College, and/or Division III and want to break into NCAA Division I, then this is the opportunity you are looking for … The Richmond Showcase Camp & Evaluation.
The Richmond Showcase event is an instructional camp to help prepares experienced umpires in two-man mechanics in the three-man umpire system. An intense five-day umpire development program with a professional approach to the instruction of three-man umpire mechanics – emphasizing plate and base work augmented by live game evaluation and on-field drills.
In conjunction with a week-long Triple-A tournament, this showcase event allows umpires to show “their stuff” in front of Division I evaluators, who provide immediate feedback and instruction on how to improve your game. You will be evaluated on your aptitude, attitude, and how well you can implement feedback/suggestions.
Our professional approach in umpire development and evaluation of the three-man system helps umpires improve their skills to the level needed in higher-level games.
Evaluation Games Only
If you have previously attended a MAC/UCU three-man camp, you can sign-up for a two-game block of evaluation games on Monday, July 26, Tuesday, July 27. Saturday, July 31, and/or Sunday, August 1.
You may select the day of your choice and either a morning or afternoon time block.
Please Note: We reserve the right to turn down guys who have registered for evaluation games if we believe they are better suited for the camp and/or need instruction before being on the field in a three-man game.
Field instruction and live games take place in the Richmond/Ashland, Virginia area on surrounding fields. On Wednesday, July 28, the camp begins in the classroom at approximately 11 AM and concludes on Sunday, August 1, after the last evaluation game.

We have made arrangements with Fairfield Inn & Suites in Ashland at a rate of $89 per night. Umpires are responsible for making their own room reservations and paying for accommodations. Umpires are responsible for their own meals.

Camp Tuition: Register by July 15 for the early-bird rate of $250. After July 15, register at the regular rate of $325. All registrations are subject to approval. Payment does not guarantee acceptance.
Evaluation Fee(s): Based on how many game blocks you register for … each day (Monday, July 26 , Tuesday, July 27, Saturday, July 31, or Sunday, August 1), there are two game blocks – morning (8:00 am to 12:00 pm) and afternoon (12:00 pm to 4:00 pm). You may register for one or more game blocks. Each game block is $50 and includes two (2) games.
