3-Umpire Development


Our instructional staff is comprised of current and former Triple-A professional umpires, current and former NCAA postseason umpires, and leaders in the umpiring community.


September 21 – September 25 | Registration Now Open!

This clinic is designed for umpires currently working NCAA Division I, umpires looking to advance to NCAA Division I, or umpires wanting to advance to NCAA Division II or Division III post-season.

Clinic Overview

UCU/MAC offers innovative instruction in preparing umpires to work three-man mechanics at the NCAA Division I Conference level. UCU/MAC believes in an intense and professional approach to instruction three-man umpire mechanics, emphasizing base work augmented by live game evaluation and on-field drills and instruction.

This is a great opportunity to learn the umpire craft. All registrations are subject to approval.


UCU President Chris Marshall, a four-time Super Regional Umpire and Conference Coordinator for four Division I Conferences, leads this clinic’s talented staff of instructors – including lead instructor NCAA Division I Super Regional Umpire Brian deBrauwere.


The clinic will take place in the area of Piscataway, NJ.

Tentative Camp Schedule

  • September 21 – Classroom (Location & Time TBD)
  • September 22–25 – On-field instruction and live game evaluations

MAC/UCU attempts to accommodate your travel plans. Still, umpires should be prepared to participate in the evening of training on September 21st and a full day of training/games on September 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th.

Lodging/Travel Arrangements

Umpires are responsible for their own lodging, transportation, and meals.


Clinic tuition is $450 and includes all activities – classroom, on-field training, and evaluation games. All registrations are subject to approval. If an umpire is not approved, they will receive a FULL REFUND of any monies paid.

Register by September 16

Registration closes on September 16 or when the capacity for this clinic is filled. Umpires approved for this clinic will be notified by September 18 or earlier.

This umpire development opportunity is a joint training program offered by Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Umpires and the United Collegiate Umpires.
