Hampton 2-Man Showcase

Advanced 2-Man Umpire Development | Limited Spots Available

An umpire development and evaluation opportunity for umpires to advance an umpire’s career in high-school and lower-lever college games using the 2-man umpire system.

A UNIQUE UMPIRE DEVELOPMENT EVENT

Continuing education is critical to the success of the MAC/UCU program. This unique umpire development event combines classroom instruction (virtual) with live game evaluations.

Students learn valuable insight into working the mechanics during the class instruction and then apply during the live game evaluations with highly skilled evaluators watching – to allow students to assess their performance and receive detailed evaluations for improvement.

The live evaluation games are part of a Showcase Tournament at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, VA. Umpires are evaluated in person and on video (if available). Key plays are isolated and reviewed with students following their games.

Evaluators are MAC/UCU Division I umpires and current professional umpires under the guidance of NCAA Coordinator John Porter.

Schedule

We’ll kick-off the the weekend on Thursday (10/14) evening with the virtual “MAC Classroom” – you’ll receive instruction on advanced 2-man mechanics and insight on umpiring baseball from some of the top umpires in the game – helping you to lift your standards and improve your ability in the craft of umpiring.

Saturday and Sunday are live game evaluations where you will put into action the concepts and mechanics taught in our virtual classroom.

Tuition

The Showcase fee for a weekend is $125. It includes the virtual classroom and the two days of live evaluation games. Please note all registrations are subject to assignor approval. Payment does not guarantee approval.

Umpires are responsible for their travel and lodging. However, if you need hotel reservations, you may add to your registration a hotel room for one night or for both nights (Friday and Saturday). The cost is $130 per night, including taxes.
