Our instructional staff is comprised of current and former Triple-A professional umpires, current and former NCAA postseason umpires, and leaders in the umpiring community.

This clinic is designed for experienced umpires wanting to “break into” college baseball and umpires looking to advance to NCAA Division I.

Clinic Overview

UCU/MAC offers innovative instruction in preparing umpires to work three-man mechanics at the NCAA Division I Conference level. UCU/MAC believes in an intense and professional approach to instruction three-man umpire mechanics, emphasizing base work augmented by live game evaluation and on-field drills and instruction.

This is a great opportunity to learn the umpire craft. All registrations are subject to approval.

No Payment Needed to Register (by September 15)

You can register for this event without making payment, if you register by September 15. All registrations are subject to assignor approval. If approved, you will receive notice of your approval with instructions on how to pay for this event as well as other information on location, hotel discounts available, and clinic schedule. Tuition fee is $290.

Schedule

We’ll kick-off the the weekend on Thursday, September 29 in the evening with a live in-person classroom session – you’ll receive instruction on college-level three umpire mechanics and insight on umpiring baseball from our instructor staff.

Saturday and Sunday are live game evaluations where you will put into action the concepts and mechanics taught in our classroom.

Instructors

Our staff is comprised of some of the top Collegiate Umpires, led by CAA Umpire Coordinator John Porter.

Location

The clinic will take place in the greater DC/Maryland area.

Lodging/Travel Arrangements

Umpires are responsible for their own lodging, transportation, and meals. All approved registrants will receive information on special hotel arrangements available for this weekend.

Tuition

Clinic tuition is $290 and includes all activities – classroom, on-field training, and evaluation games. Make no payment now, if registering before September 15. If approved, you will be notified on how to make your tuition payment.
